Springboks Confirm Final Warm-Up Against Fiji
South Africa's national rugby team, the Springboks, will face Fiji in their final warm-up match before the 2027 Rugby World Cup. The Test is scheduled for September 18, 2027, at Polytec Stadium in Gosford, on Australia's Central Coast north of Sydney. The match comes just over two weeks before the Springboks begin their title defence against Italy at Adelaide Oval on October 3. The encounter will be only the fourth Test between the two nations. South Africa have won all three previous meetings. Springboks head coach Rassie Erasmus said Fiji would present a demanding challenge. He noted that Fiji are among the top ten ranked teams in the world and described them as a physical and talented side who will want to make full use of the match, just as South Africa do, before the tournament kicks off. South Africa have been drawn in Pool B alongside Italy, Georgia and Romania. Fiji will compete in Pool C and begin their campaign against Spain in Newcastle on October 4, before facing Canada in Adelaide and Argentina in their final pool match.
